The method is unique in that it works with the nervous system and brings awareness to joint restrictions that have been building up over the years. It aims to maintain the body close to its optimal mobility - so we can walk, bend, and move when we are 85!
In this 'sitting society' we spend much of our time physically inactive, in a state of stress, our brain overloaded by information and demands to get things done. Disconnected from our physical body, we may not even notice that our joints are not moving as nature intended. Kaiut Yoga brings us into awareness in unexpected ways, using subtle movements to counteract the bio-mechanical impact of aging and the habits that restrict mobility. The practice is mostly on the floor using prolonged positions that allow time and gravity to work for us.Created in Brazil byFrancisco Kaiut,this method evolved from chiropractic science, ancient hatha yoga, and neuroscience.
